Mr.George Kegoro, Executive Director of the Kenya Human Rights Commission(KHRC) making his presentation to participants during the Commission's 4th Quarterly Speakers' Series.NLC`s Directorate of Research held a Quaterly Speakers’ Series on ‘Corruption and Land Rights: The Tip of The Iceberg in the Delivery of Land Reform in Kenya’ on 27th September,2016. This was the 4th of such Forum Series organized by the Commission which is aimed at creating a platform for Information and Knowledge creation as well as sharing. It also seeks to advance research on Land and Natural Resources.

This Quarterly Series was graced by Mr. George Kegoro, Executive Director of the Kenya Human Rights Commission(KHRC). The next of such Forums is scheduled for late November, 2016.

CLMBS TRAINING AT JUMUIA RESORT AND BEACH CONFERENCE AT MOMBASA

There was a training for secretary CLMBS and members of CLMBS from Kitui, Makueni,Machakos and Isiolo Counties from 9th-12th May,2016 at Jumuia Resort and Beach Conference at Mombasa.

The objectives of the CLMBS training was to

  1. Enhance the capacity of the CLMBS to effectively and efficiently address land conflicts.
  2. Enhance CLMBs member’s knowledge on the legal framework on land reforms and capability of providing effective support to local communities.
  3. Train them on ADR(Alternative Dispute Resolution) and TDR(Traditional Disputes Resolution) mechanisms on solving land conflicts.
